A Look Ahead: Week of 4/13 Programming

It’s going to be an awesome week here at CFP!!  Lots of fun things in store…

Monday – Get ready for a clean complex + some clean pulls to round off your weightlifting session.  The WOD will be short…& it will burn!  Thrusters & Burpees always burn!!

Tuesday – We’ll be working on Toes to Bar (TTB) progressions, including some conditioning work to strengthen our core.  This WOD will be a bit longer than Monday, a 12 min AMRAP.

**Start working on your calves, shins & ankles for the rest of the week, there’s a decent amount of running in the forecast!

Wednesday – Press day!  Performance athletes, have your percentages ready – 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%

Thursday – Every body loves back squat day!  Performance group – expect to go heavy for your last 2 sets of 3 – 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, 90%.  Bring your rope for some DUs as well!

Friday – Oly day!  We have a fun little Power Snatch or Hang Power Snatch EMOM.  We’ll be starting light in our EMOM & increasing the weight throughout.  We’re looking for NO failed attempts, even with increased weight!!  Getting some good volume & training in.  Prepare yourself for a long, slow & steady 25 min Metcon.

Saturday – As always – feel free to bring a friend, family member, neighbor, anyone!  A fun Partner WOD is in store 🙂

The writers over at He and She Eat Clean have come up with a great “at home” circuit workout to the movie Elf!  Too funny not to share!  If you last the whole movie, you’ll definitely have gotten in a great Christmas morning WOD!!

Looks like you have 0 excuses for slacking over the Christmas holiday 😉

Come work it all out at the box this weekend!! Here’s a reminder of our holiday schedule this week:

  • Wednesday, Nov 27th – Normal Schedule
  • Thursday, Nov 28th – Closed!  Eat your pants off!  (Ok, don’t actually eat that much!)
  • Friday, Nov 29th – 10am WOD only!
  • Saturday, Nov 30th – Normal Schedule – 830 & 930am WODs

Seriously, Thanksgiving is one day.  Enjoy the good food, family & friends!  And then stick to your guns & get back to the box 🙂  Bring a friend, family member, neighbor, great uncle, or cousin this weekend!  It’s FREE!!

Then we get to the box & I see I have a Facebook message from Jackie, sending me this exact picture!

Hahaha, no, they were both joking!  I wasn’t offended in the least, I think it’s hilarious!  Jackie said “This is pretty much us!” and it definitely is!

I may not have tackled Double Unders yet, but I’m working on it!  Every day.  The only way to be good at something is to do it!  Over & over & over again.  Make it a priority!

You can’t tell me “being healthy” and “eating right” are your priorities when you don’t work out & eat those donuts in the break room.  You can’t tell me you want to be better at running when you skip all the WODs with running in them.  Actions speak louder, my friend!!

So, what is your priority!?  What are you working on!?  What are you going to be good at!?

I’m going to be really good at double unders…eventually!

#fitspiration Monday

The CFP blog has been slacking lately, so we’re trying to remedy that today with a little #fitspiration Monday for ya!!  It has a funny & a recipe!  Good stuff, right!?

This made me laugh out loud!  I can definitely relate!  I feel so silly in CF sometimes….totally missing that wallball, having my kip get out of control, missing that lift, whatever it is….I know I do not look rockstar-esque in every CF move.

But darn it if those pants that I haven’t worn all summer don’t fit better!  Am I right!?  Haha, it’s not about looking good while you do it, it’s about doing it to look good!!
